Turner had his first appointment with his surgeon yesterday since his eye surgery in October and we got a pretty good report. We learned that even though Turner's eyes still cross without his glasses, they won't do another surgery. He will continue to wear his glasses to keep his eyes straight for 4 months minimum or 4 years to forever maximum. Gotta love the specifics they give you sometimes eh? Atleast it's ballpark versus the real answer of 'I don't know'. Even though that is pretty much what he communicated without using the actual words. We also found out that Turner may need a stronger prescription as time progresses and he will get another eye exam in April. Tanner and I would have preferred another corrective surgery so we can ditch the glasses, but it's not how the doctor decided to do things so we have to trust it's the best decision. If Turner's eyes begin to turn in again even with his glasses, he'll need another surgery. At this point, we just have to make sure he continues to wear his glasses during every waking minute of his day and make sure his eyes remain straight while wearing them.
I think I mentioned before that Turner's surgeon isn't the most personable guy in the world, but he was highly recommended and we are happy with what he has done for Turner so far. That said, the doc is still kind of a grump so we let Turner rearrange his furniture every time he stepped out of the room.
