Something Old, Something Wack

I'm thinking about selling my wedding gown.

Why hang on to something that will never leave the drycleaning box? I don't have a daughter and if I did I'm sure she'll want her own special dress. Not a hand-me-down from her Mom that was worn way back in . . . (gasp!) 2003.

My mom didn't have a wedding gown. Actually I'm not sure what she wore to the courthouse the day she was married. I'll have to ask . . .

Anyway, if she did have a gown, I'm sure I wouldn't have 1. fit in it or 2. wanted to fit in it. It was 1979 and everything was ruffly and clingy and belted and sheer.

Do you think anyone would be interested in wearing a used wedding gown? I was in it for all of 9 hours and it's been drycleaned.

I didn't want a used wedding gown, but times are tough and maybe someone will show interest.

It is special to me, but not enough that I would ever display it. I definitely won't be wearing it again. Something else to ponder over . . . just what I need.

You have pictures and that's all the matters. I gave my dress to the Goodwill after calling a bunch of consignment shops and finding out no one would take a dress that's older then 2 years. I wasn't gonna hold on to a dress when I'm not married to that guy anymore. But I felt bad that my parents paid so much for the damn thing. Why it took me so long to finally let it go. But you're right...you'll never wear it so might as well give it away for someone who may get some use out of it. Hell...someone may wear it for Halloween!

Just Kidding.

One of my SIL's bought their dress on ebay...maybe you could try that.

Craigslist is always an option, too.
