Baby Making Science and Other Stuff

I'm trying to be a more open-minded person.

I never believed, still kind of don't believe, but now I want to believe that my lifestyle effects if I get pregnant again.

The first time I was pregnant, I was on a fertility treatment. I gave it all the credit for allowing us to conceive my son. Then, I got pregnant without a fertility treatment which sent my mind racing. Maybe I never needed it in the first place. Maybe it's a mind over matter type of thing.

I'm not a person that likes to take medicine. I despise it and will only take it if it's absolutely necessary.I've never followed an ovulation chart to see when my most fertile time of the month would be. Maybe I should start.

A person can find answers to all kinds of questions about fertility on the internet, by asking doctors, by asking friends and family, etc. There is so much research done, I feel like I'm being a fool by ignoring it.
I have to accept that science and medical studies can provide me with lots of helpful information. Information that will aid my body in getting pregnant.

It's hard getting over my 'if it's meant to be, it will happen' mindset. I'm going to try to be more proactive and do as my doctor suggests. I am going to try the Fertilty Diet.

Here's what I need to do:
1. Avoid alcohol. (unless I'm on my period, then it's ok)
2. Drink only 8 oz. or less of caffeine per day. (this one's gonna hurt)
3. Eat 6 oz. of whole grains per day.
4. Aviod refined carbs (white bread, white rice, white people, etc.)
5. Eat 2 c. of fruit and 3 c. of veggies per day.
6. Eat 12 oz. of shrimp or light tuna per week.
7. Take a pre-natal vitamin daily.
8. Avoid deli meats

I'm really going to try to follow this for 3 months and see what happens. If anything, I'll be eating healthier and ultimately feeling better. I still refuse to follow an ovulation chart. My sex life doesn't need that kind of pressure.

Wish me luck!

GOod luck!

If I had a nickle for every one of my friends and family members who got pregnant after they stopped the meds and diets and calendars and temp taking, I could take us both out for ice cream, double scoops.

I like to believe that the stress of trying is the number one contributing factor to all their fertility problems.
