Dinosaur

Some things are best left memories.

Live in the moment as you remember, and don't go back.

This is tough when you've spent time with a certain group of people you don't really see anymore and those good times left an imprint. Or if you've worked somewhere for peanuts but it was worth it because it was fun and it still put that ten bucks in your car ash tray so you can fill it up for the week.

If you go back to visit, hang out, whatever .  . . it will never be the same. In fact, it will be disappointing.

We don't want to be the old creepy guy at the parties, the visiting lady that used to work here that nobody recognizes, the state qualifying athlete who's stops by to talk to the coach when their name has been lost through time passed.

Don't be that person, please. Let. it. go.

To the people in the present, you are a dinosaur.

There are reasons our lives expand over 80 years. We need to continue growing, experiencing new things, meeting new people. Living in the past isn't living.

Thrive in the memory but don't forget to keep making new ones, kay?

*This post was inspired by a co-worker who, over the past weekend, got to experience how un-cool they really felt when they tried to go back and re-live a part of their life with the strangers now making the experience their own. Sad.
