Yesterday we went to visit Turner's eye surgeon in Cleveland to follow up on the new prescription and patching they prepared us for a few months ago.
Well, we got really surprising news.
For the first time since Turner's surgery, his vision has improved! Instead of needing a stronger prescription, he needs a weaker one. Because the doctor believes his prescription needs corrected, he has decided to hold off on the patching.
What a relief!
During dinner last week, Turner told us that a kid in his class said his eyes were weird when he took his glasses off. We told Turner that his glasses help his eyes and I told him that he looks very handsome in his glasses. He was concerned that his eyes ARE weird and we assured him that they are not. Oh, I certainly hope that his eyes get corrected soon. Kids are curious at this age and ask questions, but I dread the day he comes home because he is teased about his eyes. I guess we'll cross that bridge if or when we get to it.
Turner cooperated very well with everyone through the hours of testing today. He had a mini meltdown at the end of the day but I can't say I blame him. We decided to skip his gymnastics class and relaxed at home for the evening.
Now to find the Batman glasses Turner has requested. . .

What good news! Glad to hear his vision is improving and no patching! Sounds like you are having a wonderful leave....enjoy every second!
excellent news.
It's funny how "weird" is the buzzword with the preschool kids.
I've even considered adding it to the "bad word" list because it gets pulled out at the worst times in our house or at Jake's school. Both by him and the other kids.
Yea! That is great! Hope the next visit has just as great of news!
