Congenital (Infantile) Esotropia

We had our trip to the Cole Eye Center on Thursday to find get more information about Turner and schedule his surgery. He has been diagnosed as having Congenital Esotropia and needs surgery immediately. The soonest they were able to schedule him is on September 9th but I was encouraged to keep calling to see if it can be moved up. The Esotropia has caused him to be farsighted and will probably need corrective glasses after the his eyes are straight. The part of the eye that sees up close has not develped yet because he hasn't been using it. They also said that he may need 2 or 3 surgeries until they are correctly alighned. We are hopeful that they will able to help him and hopefully very soon.
We went to Bellevue this weekend for Jake's 18th birthday. The bonfire got rained out and a few people didn't get to see Turner, but all in all it was a good evening. Turner did very well and slept through the night and most of the car trip there and back he took his naps. He was a little fussy yesterday when we got home but I think it's mostly teething. We're still waiting on 2 little teeth that are right on the surface. I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as they come through.

Here is a pic of Turner eating a popcicle and loving it!

Hi Jen,

I love the popsicle picture! What a big boy holding the popsicle himself! I will be back at work in 2 weeks! Can't wait to catch up when I get back.
