Shiny Happy Me

Despite our power going out on Wednesday night through Thursday morning (wasn't that the ONLY thing I was thankful for a couple of days ago?), being a single parent for a week, and working way beyond my well-planned job expectations, and another surprise visit from Aunt Flow, I've been able to maintain a good attitude. Why? Because today is the Friday the 13th. Seriously, my only lucky day of the year. I usually buy a few scratch off's and treat myself to a lunch or dinner not made at home.

Here are my good reports:

Turner is now drinking out of tippy cups at daycare, no more bottles!

Tanner is going back to work next week and his eye is healing very well according to the doc this morning.

We got our tax return today!

Grandpa is coming by to see Turner tonight so I should be able to get some studying in.

We received a letter from Joe and he loves boot camp. (Evidently, it's possible.)

I don't have any big plans for the weekend. My first Economics exam is tomorrow morning (wish me luck). Tanner and I haven't ever celebrated big for Valentine's Day but maybe we can get dressed up and go to a nice dinner. . . then again, isn't that what everyone else is going to do? Long waiting lists, yuck. Go to a movie? Eh, there isn't really anything we are wanting to see. We'll probably just hang out at home with Turner and get a movie after our little guy goes to bed, snuggle up on the couch, I'll drink some wine, Tanner will put the moves on me, and I'll have to decide between sex and sleep. Btw, sleep usually wins. I know, I know! Bad wife. I feel bad. Maybe you could come over and have sex with him a couple nights a week. Just keep it quiet; I need my sleep.
