This is my view from the car on my way to work this morning. It's not even going to reach 40 degrees today. I fear my tulips are going to die. I have a brown thumb and kill every plant or shrub I touch. I don't have to touch tulips. Thankfully, they are an independent flower and they multiply on their own. That's my kind of flower! I've managed to keep our hosta's alive, but I have to give most of the credit to my Mom who nurtured them into the beasts they are today. I have lilies, but I won't see them for a couple more months. Hopefully, they will survive the snow also. I sound like an old ninny talking about my flowers, but I like to look at beautiful things and flowers are beautiful. I love getting flowers. I don't understand why people think they are a waste of money . . . then again, I've never spent over $20 on a bouquet. The flowers at the grocery store check-out aisle are perfect. They last long enough for you to enjoy them, but die early enough that you don't ever get tired of looking at them.
This past weekend we (I) colored Easter Eggs. Turner wasn't into the actual dyeing of the eggs, but he did enjoy picking them out of their display and smashing them on the ground. He was addicted to the cracking sound, the texture of the broken shell, the appearance of the split egg exposed, etc. I let him break 2 of them, we ate another, and the rest are put away until Easter day. I'm not sure if he'll want to eat them as much as he'll want to break them. It really doesn't matter. I wasn't looking forward to eating pink and green egg salad next week anyway.
This week is already hectic. I'm covering for a girl who is on her 2nd Honeymoon to celebrate her 1 year wedding anniversary. Am I jealous? Not really, I checked the weather at their destination and it might reach 50 degrees today. Like their going to be hiking anyway . . . who am I kidding. Anyway, I'm jetting through our weekly schedules and getting ready for our "time off." Who seriously takes time off when they have days off anymore? Our days off are so packed with activity I decided to take 1/2 day vacation on Monday to recover from all of our traveling and visiting we will be doing Friday through Sunday. It makes me tired to think about it! I'm putting those thoughts out of my head right now before I add more stress to an already busy busy day.
I've planned to have Turner hunt for Easter eggs on Sunday morning before we head out and about, but I'm still unsure of what to put in them. It'll be last minute for sure. Poor kid will probably end up with mini-marshmallows in each egg. I guess it's better than the bunny turds that get left for the bad kids. I'm so excited to see him outside looking for eggs this year and I'm guessing Tanner and I will have more fun than he does. I will definitely post some pics.
I'll try to blog again in the next couple of days, but if I don't make it have a wonderful Easter everyone!

This weather sucks. I'm afraid what few flowers I have are gonna die. I kill everything too, so don't feel bad. I'm horrible with plants and flowers. But they sure are nice to look at.
Try not to work too hard! Have a great Easter!
Ladies! If your tulips have not bloomed yet you should be ok...they are resiliant flowers! That is why I am glad mine always bloom a little late...I don't have to worry about them dying prematurly. I also love tulips because they are so easy to care for...wait, let them bloom, have the husband run over them with the lawn mower....works for me!
I am excited to see Turner and you guys at easter. We will also be celebrating Hannah's 1st birthday at Steinbauer's so be prepared for the famaratzzi!
