Ok, after this I promise I'll give you a break. But I'm on a roll.
2001. Aahhh the year of Ja' Rule. That dude was in every other song on the radio. Annoying.
Dido was making hits thanks to Eminem's "Stan."
Pink skanked it up in the Lady Marmalade video with Lil' Kim and Christina.
Gwen Stefani went solo.
Britney danced with a snake at the VMA's and
Carson Daly was a household name thanks to TRL.
"Hero" by Enrique Iglesias was played over and over making us cry and think about the victims/fireman involved in 9/11.
What song got the most play in my CD player?
Fallin', Alicia Keys
She's so talented, beautiful, and so not in it for the celebrity. She had the white girls wearing cornrows and the white guys saying "she'd be a whole lot prettier if she'd take her hair out of those braids."
While most female artists were made popular in their videos by dancing around in bikini's and whipping their hair; Alicia sat behind a piano and poured her heart out.
So cool.
Runner-up: Angel, Shaggy
I can't stand to hear this song anymore, I played it so much that summer.
Throw on your bikini and cut-offs, grab a beach towel, and pack a cooler. I'll pick you up in 30 minutes.
Truth: This song made me want to have a boyfriend and I was totally shocked when I found out Shaggy was from Brooklyn.
Song I hated most in 2001:
"I'm Like a Bird", Nelly Furtado. No specific reason. Just couldn't stand it.
Probably because you loved it and I had to listen to you and your girly friends sing it out loud at every karaoke bar for almost 2 years.

I loved Fallin. One of the greatest songs of all time. But unfortunately - the rest of her cd sucked.
Same with Shaggy - but I'm with you. If I hear it now - I quickly turn the channel. It's one of those songs that got REALLY annoying.
And where is Alicia these days? I don't think she can top that.
Just wanted to tell you that i think your blogs are hilarious.
