Justification

So many reasons for this post.

1. I don't like the fact that a song has been my last blog entry in the past month.
2. I have so much going on I don't know where/how to start.
3. I have a little bit of a break in my work day.
4. I miss you.

Well folks, I've only got 20 minutes of my lunch break left. To summarize a month's worth of thoughts and activities just isn't going to happen to I'll try to touch on my high's and low's.

Let's start with the boy, shall we?

Tuner is . . .
  • counting to 12 (I overheard him one evening and almost went into shock. I LOVE daycare.)
  • know most of the ABC song. Those damn ellameno's get him every time.
  • is pedaling his bike. Finally! It took that kid forever to want to use the pedals. Now he drives 100 mph. and you'd better stay out of his way because the only way he knows how to brake is to hit something.
  • in potty-training remission. He used to be down with sitting on the potty, now he cries, so we don't force it. I'm not sure when to turn into the potty-police but Tanner and I aren't ready to come down on him yet about it. We'll give him a few more months and see if he get re-interested.
  • running. We took him to our local park that has a track and a baseball field. He ran the bases twice and also ran 3/4 of a mile on top of playing on the playground equipment. I'm so jealous of his energy and motivation.
  • interested in soccer. Of all of the sports we have introduced him to, he presently loves soccer the most.
  • always listening. He refers to things in conversation that I said months ago. I am so amazed by this.
  • meeting the Easter bunny on Saturday. I hope he doesn't freak out like he did when he met Santa last year. It wasn't pretty.
Crap! I'm running out of time. Leave it to the boy to eat up my minutes of free time even though he's miles away. It's my own fault. He consumes me and I allow it. I love him more than anything. Turner is the best thing I have ever been part of. Hands down.

Random bulleted list, go!
  • I applied for another position within the company. It's doubtful I will get it, but it took alot for me to talk myself into applying. Hopefully, this was the first step to me taking more control of where I want to direct my career. Would I like a career or would I be happier with a job? I'm still digging into that one.
  • I referred a few people for positions that became open in my department. They got their hopes up and didn't get the job. It was absolutely heartbreaking to be on the phone with them and listen to them cry. I felt so responsible for their disappointment. I will never refer anyone ever again. Ever.
  • I've lost 4 lbs. in 5 weeks. I'm not meeting my goal of 1 lb. a week for 15 weeks, but hey, 4 lbs. is still 4 lbs. I'm getting there.
  • I've Decided I'm going back to blonde. It will be a slow process and will probably take me until the end of the summer until it's completely back to it's natural hue. I really enjoy the dark hair but the maintenance is killing me. Don't get me wrong. I love the salon, but not every 5 weeks. Plus, my pocketbook is screaming and Mama wants a new pair of shoes and pencil skirt and and and
Time's up! Love you all!

I'll try to add more when I get a chance, but I never know when that will be these days. Enjoy the sunshine everybody!

Well, just you posting something had made my day! I'm glad to see you back...even if it's just for a brief visit. I've missed you.

Don't blame you for going back to blonde. Hair maintenance is killer. One of the reasons why I've toned down all the highlighting is because my wallet couldn't handle it.

I'm sorry about your friends not getting hired. I had that happen once...and since then I haven't referred anyone. I felt so bad...but thankfully she found a job she loves and everything worked out. I'm sure things will work out for your friends, even though they're bummed about it right now.

That sunshine is deceiving. I am so OVER this frickin cold. I WANT TO WEAR OPEN TOED SHOES!!

Glad to hear how awesome Turner is doing!

I missed you too. And Turner sounds every bit as amazing on paper (screen?) as I's sure he is in the flesh.

Congrats on the 4 pounds, and the return to nature in the hair department. I'm letting mine go back to normal too, but I find that every time I see a lighter hair (mine isn't as light as yours, it's like a mousy light brown/dark blonde) I'm wondering if it's a grey or a blonde hair!
