Tanner and I have been trying to gather items to put in Turner's Easter basket and so far this is what we have come up with:
small hollow milk chocolate bunny
a pinwheel
a wind-up chick
the book Pat the Bunny and
a coloring book
Does anyone out there have any ideas? We allow Turner the occasional treat, but we try to stay away from candy. We've instructed the grandparents to fill his basket with juice boxes, fruit, and sugar free snack packs.
What did you put in your kid's, niece's, nephew's first Easter basket?
We've purchased plastic eggs for an Easter hunt and debated about what to put in them. What about pictures of family? Look! It's grandma. Look! It's Uncle Joe. Does that sound crazy? The last time we bought stickers I ended up scraping them off of our french doors, windows, floors, etc. Lesson learned. He's already received his first bible and has a library of books.
Help! Is there anything you would add?

little tubs of play-doh :)
good question! i have no clue what you put in a young child's Easter basket. but it sounds like you are on the right track!!
Good idea Brandie! How about bubbles? I try to find some fun stuff for outside for spring. Maybe a kite? I haven't started even thinking about Easter baskets yet, so you are good!
we did books and bubbles last year, this year i'll give a little bit of candy and some little seed starter kits. jake is way into growing things right now.
sounds like you are all set!
How about quarters, nickles, and dimes for his piggy bank in the eggs? That was always one of my favorites as a child...he may not get it now, but someday he will. I think the picture idea is great too! Super cute idea! For the basket I like the bubble and playdoe idea. Have you seen the new color wonder stuff from crayola? you could get him the fingerpainting set or the big crayons shaped for a very small child's hand to hold (they look like eggs with animal faces!)
