Blink! It's over.

We celebrated Christmas last night for a couple short hours and there is never enough time when my sister comes home. I really enjoyed visiting with Patty and James as always and Mom made a great dinner for everyone. Grandpa joined us which made me happy because since Grandma passed away 4 years ago, the holidays haven't been the same for him. He reached out to hold Turner and Turner ran from him, but Grandpa rubbed Turner's feet while he drank his bottle so it all worked out. It's fun watching my Grandpa smile when he sees Turner. It makes me feel good that Turner is so loved and wanted. Patty and James look great and the realization of being parents is setting in for them more and more. I remember the feelings I had after realizing that my pregnancy was REAL and Turner was here to stay. It is overwhelming, but so exciting at the same time. I journaled about how I felt, my weight, food cravings, and the characteristics I hoped our son would have. I wish I would have been blogging so I could share it with all of you. I am finishing up the scrapbook of Turner's first year. I encourage everyone to keep a baby book for your kids. Our childhood pictures are in a shoebox and maybe someday I'll get around to putting them together for everyone. I never scrapbooked before and I received a Scrapbooking kit at one of my baby showers and I am so grateful. Thanks again Jill and Jessica!

Last night Turner didn't dig into his gifts like I thought he would. He tore the paper a little bit and would look at me like, 'is this ok?' I encouraged him to keep going but he started playing with the toy before it was completely unwrapped so I had to finish it for him.

He got this and some of these. He also received a hat and mitten set. They match his coat perfectly. Good job Aunt Patty! Turner also received many many bibs. Much needed!

When Turner came downstairs this morning he went straight for his new toy and I had to pry it out of his hand this morning while he cried. No exaggeration.

Our next Christmas celebration probably won't be until Christmas Eve. I'll be working, but even if we decide to stay home I was thinking about buying Christmas PJ's for all of us. Grandma kind of started that tradition and it's one I'd like to keep going. That and the Christmas pickle, but Turner isn't old enough for that one yet.

Happy Holidays everyone, only 16 days to go!

How exciting, your first Christmas celebration of the year! Sounds like he got some great gifts, especially the diapers...I know I love those types of gifts, they really help out!
