- Why is it that 4 -day work weeks always seem so long? Just can't get enough of the days off I guess. I'm just glad it's Friday. Aaaand for $3.00 we are allowed to wear jeans to work on the last Friday of the month. The 3 bucks goes to The_Heartland_Education_Fund. I didn't contribute today and I'm wearing my jeans. Shhhh. Don't tell. (tee hee hee) My conscious may set in at the end of the day and my dollars might make their way into the donation box . . . but maybe my greedy side will take over and convince my brain that I need the money more than the city of Orrville. I'm sure whatever the outcome, it isn't going to keep you up all night thinking about it.
- Moving backward . . . had a great Memorial Weekend. We took the boy here instead of the zoo and we were glad we did. After about an hour an a half he was tired and ready to go home. Tanner and I had alot of fun. It was cool to feed and pet the animals . . . except for the monkey who had her vagina hanging out of her body. I guess she was in heat. It was gross.
- Cookouts filled the rest of our weekend, but it's always nice visiting the fam. Not having to cook dinner is also a plus, but if I don't eat another burger, hot dog, serving of pasta, potato salad, or baked beans for the rest of the year, I'd be ok with that.
- Tuesday we got thunderstorms that knocked our power out and flushed lots of water and mud into our house. It rained and hailed sideways and it managed to push through the seals of our doors. Our doors are only 2 years old so it's not like they have old broken down seals. How does that happen? I should say why does this type of thing happen to me? I chose Tuesday night as my night to clean the house since I was hosting my first Wednesday Spaghetti. I had also delayed doing my laundry all weekend since we traveled around Ohio for 3 days. What's a girl to do? I took the next morning off of work and scrubbed my house and did the laundry. Tanner was at work and Turner was at daycare. It's amazing how fast I got things done.
- Wednesday Spaghetti was SO fun. Doing it again next month. Got to catch up with friends I hadn't seen in almost a year. It was able to relax with my gal pals and didn't even have to leave the house to do it. Wonderful.
- Yesterday was Turner's 18 month check up and his follow appointment for his ear infections. His right ear is still infected so I'll be picking up a prescription I was told is "going to have a bad taste." Awesome. Can't wait to force this stuff down my kids throat for the next couple of days. (sigh) He received another immunization shot, but was quickly soothed when I pulled out a Cherry Dum-Dum sucker. Those things are amazing when it comes to stopping Turner's tears.
- Turner's stats at 19 months: Weight 26 lbs. 12 1/2 oz. He is heavier than 58% of toddler boys his age. We were told to cut back on fruit juice since he only should have 4 - 6 oz. per day. Right now we give him 8 - 10 oz. Our bad. Height 33 1/4 inches. Turner is taller than 69% of toddler boys his age. This adds to my hope that Turner will not be labeled "short" in the years to come. That would make Tanner and I very happy.
- We were told to start introducing the concept of Potty Training by sitting a little potty chair out or using a little seat to put on top of our toilet. I'm not sure which method to use. Any suggestions? He doesn't seem ready, but he's getting there. He likes to lift the lid of the toilet and point into it. I tell him "pee and potty go in there." He looks at me like he kind of understands, but I think he mostly just likes when I say pee and potty.
- Last night I chickened out of having Turner's hair cut. Maybe in a couple of weeks I'll be embarrassed enough to go through with it. For now I'll keep the hats on him or maybe I'll just braid the back of his hair into a rat tail.
- Jake is Tanner's youngest brother. Tomorrow is Jake's graduation. High School graduation. Tanner was in junior high when Jake was born, almost making Jake young enough to be our kid. Of course that would mean Tanner would have had to have been sexually active at 12 years of age. (he wishes) But it could have happened. My cousin Emily graduates next weekend also. We have already received a few wedding reception invites for friends. You know summer is around the corner when your mailbox is filled with bows and glitter.
Have a great weekend everyone. I promise to post some pics soon.

Does Jake know he is all over the internets today? I love it. I'll be thinking of him and the whole family all weekend. This is big stuff!
I'm glad your WedSpag went well!
And about the potty seat, I found the chair to work better for Jake, but its DISGUSTING because you have to clean it.
I/we also had a hard time getting him to use the big potty (even with the seat) after he was used to the little one. It's still a problem from time to time, and I threw it out 6 months ago.
Potty training is hard no matter what.
sounds like your memorial day weekend was just as insane as mine. but i love burgers on the grill and will never tire of it!!
i'm SO sad i missed Wed Spaghetti. i hope i can make it next month! it sounds like so much fun.
glad i have NO weddings this summer. nice to have a break from that. and my wallet gets a break too.
